Section 3: Effective Verbal Communication

  • Presenting information persuasively and concisely
  • Leading discussions to achieve clear objectives
  • Reading body language and vocal tone
  • Active listening strategies that build trust
  • Overcoming common communication barriers
  • Confirming mutual understanding through summarising

Who Should Attend

Management, executives, supervisors, support and administrative staff, and any professional whose job depends on being understood and trusted. Suitable for participants aged 21 and above with at least 1 year of working experience and basic English proficiency (GCE N/O Level pass, WPLN Level 5, IELTS 5.5 or equivalent).

  • Duration: 2 full days (weekday or weekend options)
  • Hours: 8:45 am – 5:45 pm
  • Assessment: 120-minute written assessment on Day 2
  • Certification: SSG Statement of Attainment (SOA) on successful completion

WSQ Funding & Subsidies — How You Can Save

This is a fully WSQ-accredited course, so a significant portion of the fees can be offset through SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) funding and other government schemes.

  • Up to 70% WSQ Funding from SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) — for Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents.
  • SkillsFuture Enterprise Credit (SFEC) — eligible employers can claim up to S$10,000 to cover out-of-pocket course fees.
  • Absentee Payroll (AP) Funding — companies sponsoring staff are reimbursed for hourly basic salary while the employee attends training.
  • SkillsFuture Credit — individuals can use their personal SkillsFuture Credit to offset the nett fee.
  • UTAP for NTUC Members — claim up to S$250 per year (or S$500/year if aged 40 and above) on top of WSQ funding.

Is this course WSQ-accredited?
Yes. The programme is accredited by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) under the WSQ framework. On successful completion (attendance + assessment), participants are awarded a WSQ Statement of Attainment.
What funding can I claim for this WSQ Communication Skills course?
Singapore Citizens and PRs aged 21+ can claim up to 70% SSG course-fee subsidy. Companies can claim SkillsFuture Enterprise Credit (SFEC) and Absentee Payroll (AP). Eligible union members (NTUC/UTAP) can claim a further $250/year. SkillsFuture Credit can be applied against the nett fee for self-sponsored Singaporeans 25+.
